Sullivan County, 2022
The DRC awarded Lesia Snihura with its very first Meritorious Award for Outstanding Community Service.
Lesia is the current Sullivan County Deputy Elections Commissioner and former Sullivan County Youth Bureau Director. As Youth Bureau Director, Lesia worked closely with the DRC and promoted our youth-oriented programs such as peer mediation and CASA. The award honored and recognized Lesia for her commitment to ensuring the wellbeing of all children in our community. This award was presented on May 12, 2022 at the Sullivan County Legislative meetings.

Putnam County, 2022
The Meritorious Award for Outstanding Community Service was awarded to retired Putnam County Family Court Judge, the Honorable James T. Rooney, for his support of mediation while in family court. The DRC also honored our staff member, Hans Schlange, for his contribution forty years ago when, as Director of Probation, he worked to bring mediation services to Putnam County.
This award was presented on July 26, 2022 in Putnam County.
